RIP Ronnie (Day 143)

Well, it's been a very lovely day. ;-)

We did some visiting, grocery shopping, and relaxing.

1,345 calories, 64 oz. of water, and now we're just going to veg for the evening.

On another note, I was very sad to hear about the passing of Chicago Cub great, Ron Santo.

Santo was one of the good guys. So very sad that Santo, one of the greatest 3rd basemen of all time, never made it to the baseball Hall of Fame in his lifetime.

He'll make it now, there is no doubt. But how bittersweet that he won't be able enjoy it. And tragic also is that he was never able to experience a World Series win by his beloved Cubs.

Santo fought diabetes and other health problems, and lost his final battle to bladder cancer. But throughout his life, he was the epitome of diligence and a "can do" attitude. He never quit on life, and he never quit on his Cubbies. And he was the world's greatest advocate and fund-raiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Rest in peace, Ronnie. We'll never forget you.

Good night and God bless...
